ACC quizzes casino kingpins Enau, Rupom | daily sun

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday interrogated suspended Awami League (AL) leaders Enamul Haque and his brother Rupon Bhuiyan, who allegedly involved with casino business in the cases filed on charges of amassing illegal wealth.

A team of the anti-graft body led by its director Syed Iqbal Hossain interrogated the siblings at their custody in the commission's headquarters in the capital's Segunbagicha.

In October, last year, ACC filed two cases -- one against Enamul for illegal wealth worth Tk21.89 crore and another case against Rupom for Tk14.12 crore illegal wealth -- with its integrated district office 1 in Dhaka.

On January 13, a team of Criminal CID arrested the Gendaria thana Awami League vice president Enamul Haque, also the director of Wanderers Club and Rupon Bhuiyan, joint general secretary of the same unit from a house in Subadda area of Keraniganj for their alleged involvement in casino business.
