A wealthy Canadian casino boss has resigned after he and his wife were charged with breaking coronavirus restrictions to receive vaccine doses meant for the vulnerable inhabitants of a remote community.
Rod Baker, 55, and Ekaterina Baker, 32, an aspiring actress, allegedly flew from their home city of Vancouver to Whitehorse then chartered a plane to travel deeper into the Yukon territory, a sparsely populated region in northwest Canada with a high proportion of indigenous people.
