OROVILLE - Gold Country Casino announced on its website Wednesday that it is "temporarily suspending operations until further notice" in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even before making the decision to close, Gold Country had already modified operations, closing the casino floor for deep-cleaning from 3-8 a.m. The Spirits Lounge and Safire restaurant had also been closed as had the Bingo Lounge and table games.
The casino's other eateries - Acorn Café, Agave Cantina & Grill and Espresso Bar - are open but with limited hours and all will close Friday morning.
Gold Country has also rescheduled comedian Rob Schneider's show to June 13. All purchased tickets will automatically transfer to the new date. If you've already purchased tickets and the new date does not work for you, the casino will refund your purchase in full.
On Tuesday, Gold Country announced no other upcoming shows had been rescheduled but full refunds would be offered to ticket holders.
