A sportsbook just across the Iowa border is opening next week.
Grand Falls Casino's much-anticipated sportsbook is hosting its grand opening on Jan. 30.
"We are excited about the opening of the Betfred Sportsbook," spokesman Damon John said in a statement. "Our new Vegas-style sportsbook will feature 80 big screen televisions, comfortable seating and a delicious new menu of items served by the Sportsbook Bar & Grill that will appeal to the tastes of any sports enthusiast."
The 3,500-square-foot sportsbook will be operated by Betfred Sports, a United Kingdom-based company. The operation at Grand Falls is its first U.S. venture.

The sportsbook is Grand Falls' latest foray into sports betting, which Iowa legalized in 2019. Last year, the casino began offering online gambling on sporting events through Elite Sportsbook.
The new sportsbook includes a 32-screen video wall display and 22 lounging chairs for patrons to use while watching a game. Customers can also order from the Sportsbook Bar and Grill, which will feature menu items like hot wings, mushroom Swiss burgers and chicken alfredo pizza, along with a full bar. VIP booths are also available for reservation.

The sportsbook is only one part of Grand Falls' $10 million expansion. The casino is also working on a 66-room addition to its hotel, along with a skywalk to connect the hotel and the casino. Grand Falls leadership hopes to have the hotel addition complete by Memorial Day of this year.
