Pechanga Resort Casino to close to public on New Year's Eve
Monday 28th December 2020
Pechanga Resort Casino near Temecula will close to the public starting at noon on New Year's Eve.
The resort announced the decision to close via its Facebook page, saying that it will give access only to Pechanga Club members and invited guests in an effort to reduce capacity amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. It will reopen to the public at 6 a.m. on Jan. 1.
The news of the planned closure follows a previous announcement by the resort that it was canceling its New Year's Eve events because of the pandemic.
In previous years, Pechanga has been known for its New Year's Eve celebrations with multiple events being held at once and thousands of visitors.
New Year's will be a quieter affair at the casinos in general this year. Though some casinos are promoting limited New Year's Eve dining specials and events, many are not actively promoting New Year's Eve festivities in a time when coronavirus case rates remain high.
