Police search for third suspect in armed robbery at Cowboys Casino
Friday 31st January 2020
Calgary police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at Cowboys Casino that took place during last year's Stampede.
Police asked for the public's help Friday to find the man accused of robbing a man at gunpoint outside the casino around 1:15 a.m., on Sunday, July 14, 2019.
They say that a casino patron was talking with three suspects who convinced the man to leave the casino and go to one of their vehicles. There, one of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his bank cards and PINs.
The victim alerted nearby police, who arrested two of the suspects and seized a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a large hunting knife and bear spray from the vehicle. Police were unable to locate the third suspect.
Police appealed to the public for help identifying the third suspect in November and say they received information as a result that allowed them to name the accused.

He is charged with a number of gun-related offences, including robbery with a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle possession a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition careless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a licence. He also faces a charge of unlawful confinement and three counts of breaching a court order.
