River Spirit Casino, Hard Rock Casino temporarily closed due to corona

TULSA, Okla. - Two casinos have announced temporary closures due to coronavirus.

An announcement was made Monday night, both Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and River Spirit Casino resort along with 8 other regional casinos, is temporarily closed in the wake of COVID-19.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation released a statement regarding River Spirit saying the closure was "in the best interest of the safety of our guests and employees."

The Cherokee Nation also released a statement saying, "For the Cherokee Nation, our first priority is our people and making sure our citizens, employees and patrons are safe and cared for during this pandemic. We continue our commitment to being proactive."

Both statements say the nations are evaluating their options with the CDC.
