Wife stabbed husband, herself in Atlantic City casino hotel room, police say

A woman was charged Wednesday after she stabbed her husband and then herself in an Atlantic City casino hotel room, police said.

The wife, Majocyline Tan, 64, of Edison, and her husband, who was not identified by police, both suffered serious injuries and were flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, according to a release from the Atlantic City Police Department. They were expected to survive.

Security guards were called to the Golden Nugget casino for a report of people arguing in a room, but then called the Atlantic City Police when the discovered the couple were suffering from stab wounds, authorities said.

Police arrived at 9:38 a.m., began an investigation and were able to determine that Tan had stabbed her 72-year-old husband "multiple" times and then stabbed herself, Atlantic City Police Sgt. Kevin Fair said in the statement.

Tan was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses offenses and was under police guard at the hospital on Thursday afternoon, police said.
